2019 was one of the craziest years of my life.
So much happened in the past year that I am so thankful for. There has been so much growth, change, and progress in so many areas of my life. I said “I do”, launched my little business, got a new roommate and moved a total of 3 times after that, came back to my favorite city (Fort Worth, duh), and so much more.
Heading into the new year, I have taken a lot of time to reflect on what I want 2020 to look like. So many thoughts about resolutions have been swirling through my head. I want to implement change in a practical way in the new year, and make resolutions that I know I can keep. So, I figured, what better way to cap off 2019 than sharing my 2020 resolutions and how I plan to start the next decade.

BE MORE GRATEFUL FOR WHAT IM CURRENTLY WORKING ON
This is the big one. In the past year I have spent so much time looking forward, anticipating what’s next, and missing all the good thats happening in the current season of my life. Going into the new year I want to learn how to be more still, be emotionally present with the current season im in, and enjoy the little moments of every day. As a practical outlet of this resolution, I am going to be sharing a bit of gratitude on my instagram account every Monday. Follow along here, and learn to find joy in the mundane with me!

GET ON A MORE REGULAR SCHEDULE
Working from home is hard yall. I don’t have a specific time I have to be in office, so sometimes I just sleep until 10:00. Its bad. So in 2020 I am going to set a schedule for myself and stick to it.

BE MORE ADVENTUROUS WITH DATE NIGHTS + TRY NEW THINGS
My husband and I do date nights every Thursday. It usually consists of getting dressed up and going to dinner and drinking margaritas. In 2020 we want to try and spice things up. Every Thursday we are going to try to do something new. Key word being try. Theres only so many things you can do after 6:00 on a Thursday, but we are definitely going to do our best!

DEDICATE SPECIAL TIME WITH FAMILY + FRIENDS
Dedicate special time with family and friends. As a wedding photographer, I have learned to value the heck out of my weekends. On the weekends I have off in 2020, I want to prioritize family and friends with little weekend trips.

GET PLUGGED INTO A CHURCH IN FORT WORTH
This is one that me and John have wanted to do for a long time, but with all our moves and crazy schedules it has been tricky! If anyone has suggestions for good Christian churches in Fort Worth, HMU!!

GET OUTSIDE OF MY BOX
Since working from home I’ve realized what an introvert I really am and how weird I am about trying new things or going to new places by myself. This year I want to get over that introvert side of me and try new things. Whether that be a work out class or a pottery class or simply reaching out to other photographers in the area to get coffee! Just stepping out of my comfort zone and finding new things that I can enjoy!

I am so so thankful for all these people and everyone that has trusted me with their memories. Cheers to 2020 and all the new faces ill get to photograph! Happy New Years!!!
