Kennedy + Jackson | Traditional DFW Wedding | Fort Worth Wedding Photographer

Kennedy and Jackson’s traditional wedding day in DFW was such a party. They danced and laughed and had so much fun with each other throughout the whole day. And its so obvious through these photos!

These two shared a love that is so special. The first time I saw Kennedy on her wedding day in DFW, you could practically see the butterflies she had. She was so excited and at ease on her wedding day as if she knew that it was meant to be. Jackson was the same way. He continuously asked me how Kennedy was doing, how she was feeling, and how excited she was. It was so sweet to see the love that these two shared.

Instead of coming on here and telling you guys about this DFW wedding day, I thought I would let the words come straight from Kennedy and Jackson! These two are incredible together and I hope you enjoy reading a little more about their love story!

Enjoy!

HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?

We met at while working together at Target! Our friendship was very flirtatious, but never went beyond a date to Chick-Fil-A after Jackson’s last shift at Target. Months went by, and he came through the checkout line while I was cashiering, with his mom! I remember clear as day, the look she gave me and then turning to Jackson and telling him I was cute. As they were leaving the store, he sent me a text and we set up our first real date. Through a lot of long distance dating, many job changes, and living in entirely different states, we built the greatest relationship and fell deeply in love.

HOW DID JACKSON PROPOSE?

When our official two year anniversary was coming up, we wanted to do something special. We were living in Florida at the time, and decided that we would drive to Northern Georgia to hike the mountains northwest of Helen. Which was the greatest choice ever! It was almost as if Jackson and I were completely alone in the woods; we didn’t encounter any other people until we were nearly at the top of the mountain. When we did finally make it to the top, the sight was absolutely breathtaking. I was no longer fatigued and felt stronger and better than ever. Jackson knows that I hate when photos are taken of me when my cheeks are flushed so he suggested we sit and cool down before taking a photo together, so I happily agreed!

We sat in silence mostly, basking in the accomplished feeling of climbing a literal mountain together and staring out into what felt like the whole world. When I was finally free of my tomato face, I suggested that I go ask a group of people that were near us taking photos to take a picture of us together so that our pictures together weren’t just selfies. Jackson said “No, no, I’ll go ask them for us!” While he was asking them to take our picture I fixed my ponytail and thought about how lucky I was to be on top of that mountain. Then three people walked over with Jackson to take our picture, which I thought was odd but I went with it. They took a few photos and when I thought they were done I turned to Jackson, just as he was getting down on one knee. He asked me to marry him and it was the easiest yes of my life. We’ve now been married for three whole months, and it has been an absolute dream that I am so happy to be apart of.

WHAT MADE YOU GUYS FALL IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER?

// Kennedy’s Answer
On the night of our very first date, it had gone SO well that I went home and told my mom that I was going to marry him. I really fell in love with him about three dates in, when I realized that I felt more at home and at ease when I was with him, than I had at any other time in my life. I’ve known that I truly did want to marry him ever since.

// Jackson’s Answer
Kennedy is single-handedly the most kindhearted person I have ever met. She lit up a room wherever she was and always brought joy and laughter wherever she went. My favorite days are days I spent with her. I knew I wanted to marry Kennedy on a random day on a drive to I don’t know where. She was smiling, and I knew in my soul I was going to marry her. I bought a ring the next week and asked her to marry me the next month.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT EACH OTHER?

// Kennedy’s Answer
My favorite physical features are his eyes and his smile. My favorite characteristics of his personality would have to be his sense of humor, his kind nature, how intelligent he is, and his drive to do amazing things.

// Jackson’s Answer
The joy she carries with her everywhere. Her smile. Her sense of humor and ability to be the biggest klutz possible. Her creativity and intelligence.

HOW DID YOU FEEL ON THE MORNING OF YOUR WEDDING?

// Kennedy’s Answer
Jackson and I talked until two in the morning the night before our wedding and then I woke up around five in the morning to write my vows (I am the worst procrastinator ever) – which means that I was very tired but so, so excited! I spent the morning alone, writing my vows and talking with God. It was the perfect beginning to a perfect day.

// Jackson’s Answer
Excited, yet at peace. I knew later that day I would be making the best decision I have ever made and marrying the most amazing person I have ever met. All my wedding worries/stress were gone and I couldn’t wait for the evening to come.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF YOUR WEDDING DAY AND WHY?

// Kennedy’s Answer
We read our vows together, in private, before the ceremony. We didn’t want to see each other yet, so we sat with our backs together and held hands. It was so intimate and the promises we made were straight from the heart, full of love. This build up to our ceremony was amazing and only made us more excited to get married. My favorite part of our DFW wedding day was when I walked down the aisle; Jackson’s face said it all. When I got to him and he took my hands, he had tears in his eyes. He whispered that me he loved me and that I was so beautiful. He just kept saying “oh my God” under his breath. I will never forget it.

// Jackson’s Answer
Watching Kennedy walk down the aisle. She looked so amazing and so happy, and we both started giggling at each other the whole time she was walking because we were so happy to marry one another.
