Areli + Greg were so much fun to photograph.
They are actually photographers in Fort Worth themselves, so being able to surprise someone with an engagement session that shares the same creativity as me was pretty awesome.

HOW WE MET
Funny story about Areli + Greg. About 3 months prior to this session I ran a giveaway for a free couples session, and they won. They had actually scheduled their mini session with me back in October as a fun little couples shoot. About 2 weeks out from the session, I got a message from Greg saying that he was planning to propose to Areli in the next few weeks. He wanted me to try and postpone the shoot in Fort Worth so he could use it as a surprise engagement session.
God sure knew that I was the worst liar, because the week of their shoot had AWFUL weather, so we were going to have to reschedule anyway.

About two weeks after that conversation, Greg got down on one knee in Hawaii (I know, how dreamy?!). He proposed with a Heidi Gibson Marquis engagement ring and honestly it’s the coolest ring I have ever seen. It didn’t take long for Areli to text me with the good news, at which point I told her I had known all along.
It’s always crazy how my clients trust me with such big surprises, even before ever meeting me in person. I love being a part of proposals and engagements, which makes this job so ideal for me.

After coming back from their trip, Areli and I set up this engagement shoot. She suggested going to Tandy Hills Natural Area for their shoot. Neither of us had been there before, but were super excited for the adventure of going to a new place.

Tandy Hills had the most beautiful scenery, it felt like we were on top of Fort Worth, Texas. We were able to overlook the city, and get some really naturey photographs. I absolutely love the tall grass and moody trees that were surrounding the entire place.

THE PROPOSAL
This is Areli’s version of her proposal story, and it is just too sweet not to share!
“
Where do I even begin! It was our second day in Hawaii and we had just hiked to the top of a mountain. As I pulled him closer to have our picture taken— Gregory was on one knee, asking me to be his forever wife all while holding my dream ring! I was at a loss of words and could not believe what was happening right in front of me.
All my dreams were coming true in an instant in the most beautiful place! I’ve never been so sure of anything in my entire existence and it honestly still feels SURREAL. Thank you for treating me so good, watching out for me and always making me smile. I’m forever stoked to marry my soulmate!
“

Areli and Greg are getting married out of state, so unfortunately I won’t be able to photograph their wedding, but I wish them all the luck in their engagement and marriage!! I can’t wait to see where life takes these two! Congrats you guys!!
