I always tell my clients that I am up for any adventure they want to take me on. But, Nelly and Santiago took the term “adventure photographer” to a whole new level. I left this romantic sand hills engagement session feeling sandy and exhausted. But, SO inspired by the love that Nelly + Santiago share.
On Saturday morning John and I woke up at 7:30 AM and made the 5 hour drive to Monahans sand hills State Park for this engagement session. When we arrived, we were completely blown away by how beautiful everything was. John and I got there about an hour early because we knew that we would want to run around and explore before the engagement session started. And that’s exactly what we did.
After running around in the sand hills and being completely covered in sand, Nelly and Santiago arrived for their engagement session. Thankfully, they didn’t judge us for how giddy and sandy we already were. Nelly and Santiago were decked out in the most beautiful black formal outfits. Which as you can see was STUNNING against the white sand. We trekked up and down the tallest hills in the park and had the prettiest engagement session EVER.

PLAYFUL + CASUAL SAND HILLS ENGAGEMENT SESSION
About 45 minutes into the engagement session, these two changed into more casual clothes so we could really have fun in the sand hills. I told them to be playful and they didn’t take that request lightly. There were so many times when N + S just took off running down one of the hills during their engagement session. Every 5 minutes one of us would trip in the sand or say something funny and we would all die laughing.

FORT WORTH WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
After the engagement session we all got pizza together and talked alllll about their wedding plans. My favorite part about this job is how so many of my clients turn into genuine friends. When someone hires me for their Fort Worth wedding they’ll get so much more than just a photographer.
When someone hires me they are getting a friend that is going to be their through this entire season of their life. I’m the kind of Fort Worth wedding photographer that touches base with you throughout your planning process. I help my clients create wedding timelines and pick out decor. Setting up coffee dates with brides just to hang out and relax is a huge priority to me. You will 100% see me crying as you say your vows. And, you best believe I will find my way onto the dance floor at some point during your reception. I am ALWAYS my clients biggest cheerleader, and its the best part of my job.
I might be biased in saying this, but I think this job is way too important to just show up and take pictures on a wedding day. Having a solid friendship with my clients is the best way to be an amazing wedding photographer. I was so thankful to start that friendship so early with Nelly + Santiago during their sand hills engagement session. And i’m SO excited to capture their wedding next fall!
